An Underwired Sport Bra for an Avid Golfer!

Today we are featuring a specially designed custom bra that needed to suit a very particular need. Not only did the sport bra need to fit, it also needed to shape/compress the breasts into a triangular shape for a well endowed avid golfer!

For those who are not familiar with golfing, you spend alot of time in this position:

Notice the triangle shape the arms make. Now imagine the difficultly someone with well endowed breasts would have not only holding this position but also taking a swing after.

Given this unusual request, I really had to sit down and think about how to achieve what basically amounts to a cleavage maximizing sport bra that is fully covered and supported.

  • Underwire for support. Possibly extra long at the underarm side to help tame the girls

  • Foam Internal slings to help push the breast toward CF

  • Quarter cup for internal support

  • Double boning in the side seam

  • Racer back or convertible

  • Stretchy, breathable exterior fabric

The drafting aspect began with the underwire as usual. However, given how narrow set the client is naturally + the need to bring the breasts toward CF further, a regular wire wouldn’t be appropriate. A plunge wire or regular wire that is significantly shorter at the CF is needed.

Given that most golfers don’t run around on the green, I focused on providing support from below - hence the quarter cup and internal slings. If the client had need something more high impact, I would have added a full internal halo.

Dual sets of boning in the side seam to further help direct the breast tissue forward. It also help if the underwire is a tad short underneath the arms.

We opted for convertible straps so she has the option of crossing it in the back or not.

Here it is!

Client wanted to stick with beige to better go under her golf clothes.

Overall, I enjoyed the challenge and am pleased with the end result!
