Frequently Asked Questions

  • No. Custom bras usually require personal measurements followed by fittings that are best done in-person but with the aid of technology, we are able to achieve the same results over the internet. Utilizing our mail order program, clients take their own measurements with our kit, and fittings are done via video conference (ie. Skype, Zoom or Google Meet).

  • Begin by making an appointment. The initial consultation will cover current fit issues, expectations, cost and turn around time. If we are given the go-ahead, measurements will be taken and an underwire (if applicable), sample cups/bras and fitting bridge will be tried on.

Depending on the individual need, there may be more than one fitting. The bra will NOT fit perfectly at this stage but is a critical step toward the ideal fit. Once fittings are finalized, the final bra with details (removable padding, multiway straps, etc) will be completed and soon ready for pickup/delivery.

  • The overall process will take between 8-12 weeks depends on work flow and fitting schedule.

  • The cost of an initial custom bra (including consultation, measurements and fittings) starts at $425 depending on fabrics and complexity. Made to measure bras can take 10+ hours between the custom drafting, cutting, multiple bra muslins for the fittings and final construction. Subsequent bras (with a recent fitting consultation) are usually significantly less. Pricing List

  • A few reasons. It can at LEAST 10 hrs to create ONE custom bra. This includes measuring, drafting, cutting, sewing, and multiple sessions of fitting and adjustments. The retail industry can make thousands of bras in that same amount of time utilizing cheaper labor and industrial molding machines in other countries. Our bras are created, drafted and sewn right here in the United States.

The custom bra process is not dissimilar to a custom wedding dress. You make an appointment, discuss styles, get your measurements taken, go back a few weeks later for a fitting, and then a few more fittings until the garment is completed. There is one major difference - most people only wear a wedding dress once while a well-fitting custom bra is something you can wear for years.

Lastly, rest assured that your made-to-order bra was crafted in-house supporting the LOCAL economy and families.

  • Yes, there are a few.

Completely seamless cups are not possible in the C+ size-range due to the lack of the industrial heat press equipment used by large-scale manufacturing. Depending on size, we can gather the fabric below the cup for a smooth finish under t-shirts and/or minimize the number of seams.

Bra band needs to be reasonably firm (especially if underwired). We can reduce the negative ease for comfort but cannot eliminate it entirely as it adversely affects fit. (ie. a 40” upstretched band on a 38” ribcage)

Breasts (and by extension, the torso) needs to be a stable weight/measurement. (ie. pronounced weight gain/loss)
